Location infrastructure on isolated island in the Australian Coral Sea

After the category 5 cyclone Yasi on February 2011 damaged core infrastructure on Willis Island the remote located weather monitoring station obtained new desalination units from AqSep. The installation features two WM4800E units to ensure supply safety for the 4-person crew manning the station.

With fresh supplies and crew rotations only twice per year it is essential to have a supply safety as there is no natural water on this 500 x 150 meter (1640 x 492 ft) coral island. The units are run in an alternating fashion and was last serviced in 2018 by the AqSep distributor from Cairns, Australia.
